Military-Connect Students Lunch & Learn Today!

Greetings Military students!ย  RNE will have monthly group meetings for military-connected students starting on Tuesday, November 14th. Discussion topics include Deployment, Mental Health and Wellness, Study Skills, Relationships, Coping Skills and any other topics you feel would be beneficial to your success at RNE. Pizza and snacks will also be provided.

NOTE: All participants must be eligible for Military & Family Life Counseling (MFLC) services and have a signed consent form on file with Mr. Palmer, our MFLC counselor.

CAVPlex Recognized at National Journalism Conference

It was an exciting weekend for CAVPlex students and directors. They attended the National Scholastic Press Association Conference the first weekend in November. At this conference, they were one of nine recipients of the Broadcast Pacemaker award, one of the most prestigious national awards a publication can win. ย 

  • 1st Place, Broadcast Commentary: Hispanic Mental Health (Evan Cano, Elizabeth Martinez, Asia Walkes)
  • Honorable Mention, Broadcast Commentary: Drag Ban Controversy (Annabelle Jones, Erin Peters)
  • Honorable Mention, Broadcast Commentary: Dress Code Changes (Zoe Becraft, Laโ€™Deja Williams)

They also participated in on-site contests, which resulted in the following awards.

  • Superior, Broadcast Package: Aaron Good and Annabelle Jones won the only Superior rating received in this category!
  • Excellent, Feature Writing: Caroline Brandes, one of 12 out of 70 journalists who competed.

Please congratulate these students and directors, as they are the nation’s “Best of the Best”.

Be On The Lookout

RNE Juniors and Seniors will have the opportunity to take the SAT or ACT in the Spring for FREE. The deadline to register is December 3, 2024. After this date, you will no longer have an opportunity to register for the school day test. Please pay close attention to your email, there will be instructions on how to register through your ParentPortal account. Students and parents are able to make the selection, but once the selection is submitted, it cannot be changed.
