The Literary Magazine is now accepting art and writing submissions. Art submissions include but are not limited to; 2D, 3D, photography, and digital artwork. Writing submissions include poems, short stories, fiction & non-fiction, and song lyrics. QR codes for the submission form are posted around the school as well as in teachers’ classrooms. College Visit: Allen Univ & Benedict College
The College Center is sponsoring a FREE college tour for Seniors to Allen University and Benedict College on Wednesday, February 15, 2023. The bus will leave from RNE at 8:50 AM and is scheduled to return by 12:30 PM. Permission forms are available in the College Center, Room A109, and in the Senior Google College Classroom. The deadline to return permission forms is Friday, January 27, 2023, by 1:30PM. Please contact Mrs. James (cjames@richland2.org) with any questions.
In partnership with Midlands Technical College (MTC) and Apprenticeship Carolina, the Columbia Chamber is recruiting new participants in the 2023 Midlands Youth Apprenticeship Program (MYA). MYA students are registered apprentices who work part-time with local companies while they take classes at their high school and MTC. Typically, students involved in MYA take high school classes and at the same time attend MTC two to three days a week in dual enrollment classes. At the end of the two-year program, students will earn a high school diploma, college credits in a specific field from Midlands Technical College, a U.S. Department of Labor credential, and two years of paid work experience. Lexington Medical Center’s 3-week summer Health Career Awareness program is designed to introduce the healthcare industry to enthusiastic, bright high school students who have an interest in the healthcare industry.
