Where Joy Resides

This yearlong, no-cost leadership development program helps young people with passion start making a difference today. Each year, 17 high school juniors and an educator from each of their schools are selected from across the United States and Africa as Bezos Scholars. Check out the additional eligibility requirements, as well as nominate an Educator Scholars from RNE to fully participate in the program.

Students in our World Languages classes had an opportunity to interact and learn about new cultures, as well as share their own. Representing RNE internationally, students participated and worked hard to make Twin Voices a success. Because this experience has been a positive one, RNE students and the World Language Twin Voices project was featured in Vanguardia, the local news in Columbia, South America. The mayor of Bucaramanga, Mr. Monroy’s hometown, also is interested in continuing with this project next semester. Thanks goes to our World Language department who dedicated time to create meaningful interactions resulting in two languages and two cultures learn from each other.

HOPE 365, is our student-led community service project for the holiday season. Our goal of each year is to help those in need in our community by collecting and donating canned goods, socks, toiletries and feminine hygiene products, and toys to various homeless shelters, local food banks, Stuff-A-Bus. Additionally, we are adopting families and senior citizens through Families Helping Families. We want to thank those who donated to our Blood Drive as they helped us accomplish one goal. Continue to lookout for Mrs. Cherry’s emails for updates on totals and additional scheduled events. Help us make our community better and stronger!
