Did you know the ASVAB is not just for those interested in the military? Takng the ASVAB can be beneficial for career exploration, helping students identify their strengths and weaknesses, predict future academic and occupational success, and potentially discover suitable civilian career paths. April ACT Deadline & Much More

The April ACT is the last national test date offered during the school year. Did you know that students can save now on success! For a limited time, they can get two tests for $99 with an April registration. Click HERE for more details. As always, there are free test prep resources, ACT fee waivers, and waivers for college application fees. Please see Ms. James in Room A109 for more information. Lillian Mirosavich has been selected for the Levine Scholars ProgramโUniversity of North Carolina at Charlotte’s premier merit scholarship, valued at over $172,000. As a Levine Scholar, Lillian earned full tuition, room, board, a grant to implement a service or outreach project in partnership with a local nonprofit, and four distinctive summer experiences that will develop leadership skills, social awareness and a global perspective. Lillian is a member of RNE Magnet Programs: CavPlex, PCA and Horizon.

ATTENTION SENIORS: WBL Activities Available

Check out these opportunities. Some qualify for CCR (College & Career Readiness) status. Below is only a few opportunities available to RNE students. For more, please join Dr. Barnes’ WBL Google Classroom (Join Code: FYKVHNR).
- Michelin US Field Study (March 7th from 10:30 AM – 1:30 PM). Only 10 students from Richland Northeast will be able to participate in this field study. Priority will go to students interested in STEM, manufacturing, or interested in working for Michelin. Lunch will be provided. Please click HERE to complete the Google Form. Remember this is a 1st come, 1st serve field study, so only 10 students will be selected. The registration form can also be found in the WBL Google Classroom.
- MEBA’S High School to Hire (May 2nd): ONLY for Seniors interested in entering the Workforce after high school. Those attending this event may be hired on the spot. There will be a Prep Session on March 11th from 1:00 – 4:00 PM at Midlands Tech Northeast campus. If interested see Dr. Barnes in C104 or send her an email (arbarnes@richland2.org).
- City of Columbia Summer PAID Internship: For any student age 16 or older. This internship will also give you CCR status. The application is now open but spots are limited, so apply TODAY. Applicants are also required to upload a resume. Applicants who do NOT submit a resume will not be considered for the internship. Please see Dr. Barnes before submitting the application. Application Deadline: April 4th Interviews Held: April 23rd
- SC Rural Water Association Pre-apprenticeship: This opportunity allows students to work up to 10 hours each week and earn Water Treatment certifications while attending high school.
