    Delta GEMS is Accepting Applications

    APPLICATION DEADLINE: SEPTEMBER 22, 2023

    The Richland County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is pleased to announce that Dr. Jeanne L. Noble Delta GEMS is accepting applications for the 2023-2024 program year. This program addresses the needs of minority young women ages 14-18, in grades 9-12th grades. The goals of Delta GEMS:

    • To instill the need to excel academically;
    • To provide tools that enable girls to sharpen and enhance their skills to achieve high levels of academic success;
    • To assist girls in proper goal setting and planning for their futures – high school and beyond; and
    • To create compassionate, caring, and community-minded young women by actively involving them in service-learning and community service opportunities.

    Juniors, Your Deadline Is TODAY

    The PSAT/NMSQT will be administered to all juniors at RNE on Thursday, October 26th.  The test measures the academic skills you’ll need for college.  Additionally, it will provide you with preparation for the SAT and the college entrance exam. 

    Will you be RNE’s next finalist for the 2025 National Merit Scholarship? For over 20 years, RNE has had approximately 58 finalists. Finalists are offered a single-payment $2,500 scholarship and may receive additional corporate-sponsored scholarships. Many colleges also look at this prestige award to offer their own scholarships.  THIS IS THE LAST DAY (September 6th) TO SIGN UP FOR FREE PSAT/NMSQT!

    Want to Go Off Campus for Lunch?

    Remember only Seniors who have their CCR (College or Career Ready) certification can go off campus for lunch. Juniors, this also applies to you when you complete the application form. Taking the ASVAB does not mean you have to go into the military. This test resembles the ACT since it contains English, Math, and Science sections which are also on the ACT. A great way to predict your success on the ACT.

    Applications are open and will be accepted until Thursday, September 21 at 12:00 PM. To access and print the enrollment form, click the image. Once applications are submitted, students will receive an email with the next steps to confirm their enrollment and a WebEx link for orientation on Monday, September 25 at 6:00 PM.

    In anticipation of severe weather associated with Hurricane Idalia, Richland Two and Richland Northeast High School will operate on an early dismissal TODAY, Wednesday, August 30, 2023. There will be no Late Start TODAY. The schedule for TODAY is:

    Period 1: 8:50 – 9:55 AM
    Period 2: 10:00 – 11:05 AM
    Period 3: 11:10 AM – 12:15 PM
    Period 4: 12:20 – 1:25 PM
    Grab and Go Lunch Pickup @ 1:25 PM 
    Dismissal: 1:30 PM
