Drumline Competition, A Great Success

Richland Northeastโ€™s drumline competition was a treat you shouldn’t have missed — well organized and well attended. Schools came from all over the state. The winners were the Kingstree Drumline. Check out their video. Can’t wait until next year.


FBLA Recognized at District Leadership Conference

FBLA District Winners

Future Business Leaders of America, Inc. (FBLA) is the largest business Career and Technical Student Organizationย in the world. Each year, FBLA helps over 230,000 student members prepare for careers in business. With their mission to inspire and prepare students to become community-minded business leaders, each year the districts around the nation sponsor leadership conferences. This year, Junior Zanya Gantt won 1st place in Public Speaking. Carolina Silva Pulido won 3rd place in Insurance & Risk Management. Please help us congratulate them both.

PCA Student Performs at Master Recital

PCA Senior,ย Ryan Hamner, competed in the South Carolina Band Director Association’sย Master Recital. Only 12 students across the state were selected to perform in thisย prestigiousย competition, and Ryan placed second overall!ย We all know how talented our students are, and it truly was an extraordinaryย performanceย -A-ย Congratulations to Ryan!

Congratulations to Senior Nathaniel Cason. Because of his exceptional academic ability and potential for success in rigorous college studies, he is one of ten Richland School District Two National Merit Finalists. He received a Certificate of Merit and will be competing with 15,000 high school students nationwide for one of three types of National Merit Scholarships:

  • 2,500 students will receive a $2,500 National Meritยฎ Scholarship,
  • 950 corporate-sponsored Merit Scholarship awards will be provided by approximately 180 corporations and business organizations, and
  • about 160 colleges and universities are expected to finance some 3,800 college-sponsored Merit Scholarship awards

RSD2 Honor’s Orchestra Selects 4 PCA Students

Please help us congratulate PCA Orchestra students, Owen Catron, Jayden Gaskins, Myles Blair, and Sanaa Blair. They were selected along with other students across the district to perform in the R2 District Honors Orchestra. The orchestra played challenging music led by distinguished guest conductor Veronica Jackson. These very talented students did an excellent job and represented RNE well!!!

$2,000+ AI Scholarship Deadline In 2 Weeks

Interested in learning about AI with instructors from Stanford, MIT, and Carnegie Mellon University, even if you do not have any coding experience. AI Camp teaches future leaders about coding, AI, how to learn, and how to work through creating impressive AI products and tech internships. Students learn about AI products through first-hand experience of being an engineer, a product manager, or a data scientist.

$500 Skylark Prize, Deadline April 1st

Offered in memory of Mr. John Bennet, the $500 Skylark Prize is accepting poems written by a student enrolled in any SC high school English program (English I to English 4 or for English electives). The poem cannot exceed 32 lines, counting the title and all blank lines. Submissions are only accepted through postal mail and must be postmarked by April 1st.
