Homecoming Week – Twin Day


NO LATE START TOMORROW

TOMORROW, Wednesday, October 12th, all 9th, and 10th-grade students will take the PSAT/NMSQT. Registered Seniors will take the SAT. Juniors will take the ASVAB or Accuplacer test. All other Juniors or Seniors will participate in College & Career Readiness prep sessions unless they signed up to participate in job shadowing. Congratulations, RNE-TV Live

RNE-TV LIve has been named a National Scholastic Press Association Pacemaker finalist. The Pacemaker is the most prestigious award in scholastic journalism and is unofficially compared to the high school equivalent of the Pulitzer prize. This is the fourth time students have received this nomination. They will learn the results at the National High School Journalism Convention in St. Louis next month. Please congratulate any CavPlex students you teach.

Rise & Shine – NO LATE START Wednesday

That’s correct. School will start at 8:30 AM due to it being a school-wide testing day. On Wednesday, October 12th, all 9th, and 10th-grade students will take the PSAT/NMSQT. Registered Seniors will take the SAT. Juniors can register to take the ASVAB or Accuplacer test. Any junior or senior who met CCR status can sign-up for Job Shadowing. Any Junior or Senior who has not registered to take one of these tests will participate in CCR sessions sponsored by School Counseling. If you have not registered to take the ASVAB, Accuplacer, or participate in Job Shadowing, please go by the College and Career Center today. This may be your last opportunity to take sign-up for the October 12th testing.

Get Your Homecoming Gear Ready!!!

We want everyone to REPRESENT like you always do for our spirit weeks.  Homecoming week should be one for the books!  There will be a dance on Thursday, October13th followed by the 90s-inspired Pep Rally on Friday, October 14th. Prior to the game against Lugoff-Elgin, we are hosting an International Fair, where teachers and students display the variety of countries that make our school so special. The game will be televised on Watch Fox 57.  So we are calling all students, staff, and alumni to show support for the Cavalier Nation and our football team. Yates Receives National Merit Recognition

Ambrose Yates was among 34,000 students named a Commended Student in the 2023 National Merit Scholarship Program. According to the NMSC spokesperson, Yates “demonstrated outstanding potential for academic success [and]… represents a valuable national resource. Recognizing her accomplishments, as well as the key role [Richland Northeast High School] plays in her academic development, is vital to the advancement of educational excellence in our nation.” Yates will be placed among the top 50,000 students entering the 2023 competition by taking the 2021 PSAT/NMSQT. Congratulations, Ambrose. We look forward to hearing more about the 2023 competition and your accomplishments in the future.

Senior Shadowing Day Forms Due TODAY (10/7)

All Seniors who have CCR Status will be allowed to participate in Senior Shadowing Day. CCR Seniors are encouraged to job shadow with a family member or close family friend. Senior Shadowing Day forms are available on the Work Based Learning website. All Senior Shadowing Day forms are due TODAY. If you are absent on October 12th and did not submit the Senior Shadowing Day forms by the deadline will result in an unexcused absence for October 12th. So get those forms in as soon as possible. There’s No Place Like Homecoming

Homecoming is next week!!!. More details about dress days coming next week. Student Activities is also hosting a Homecoming Dance, Thursday, October 13th, from 6-8 PM in the Auxiliary Gym. Tickets are $5. All grade levels are welcome but must be wearing your Richland Northeast school ID to enter the dance. RNE Alumni, we want your spirit as well. Please come out to the game against Lugoff-Elgin, Friday, October 14th at 7:30 PM. Purchase your tickets early

Fall Blood Drive


Are you 17 years old and older? All you need to do is complete the online registration form. Click HERE or the image to register online.

Students who are 16 years old, can click HERE to register and schedule their appointment. They are also required to submit a Parental Consent form to S102 or the Main Office on the day of the blood drive.
