Richland 2 Weather Update

Richland School District Two will switch to an e-learning/remote work day on Friday, September 30, 2022, due to the potential for hazardous weather associated with Hurricane Ian. This means all school buildings and district facilities will be closed and all after-school activities are canceled.

Asynchronous instruction will be provided to students. Our teachers will post assignments in Google Classroom and will have virtual office hours for students who may need assistance. All assignments must be completed and submitted by Wednesday, October 5, 2022, in order for the student to be marked present for Friday, September 30, 2022. Bagged meals for Fridayโ€™s breakfast and lunch will be provided for students to bring home with them today.

Updated Serving Detention Hours Flyer

We are working diligently to make the tardy policy and serving detention hours as easy as possible. Below you will find the updated Detention flyer and here is the link to the Detention Flyer so that you may click the links and access the Google forms that will be used to sign up for After School Detention and Saturday Work Detail. There are 30 spots available for each day for ASD and 30 spots for each date for SWD. Tutoring has unlimited spots.


Accepting Homecoming Nominations

Nominations for Mr. & Miss Homecoming and Prince and Princess are now open. Homecoming King & Queen must be a Senior and Homecoming Prince & Princess must be a Junior. Students must meet the following qualifications to be nominated. Please check your email for the nomination form sent by Mrs. Cherry. The nomination must come from a staff member.

  • Be a part of a Richland Northeast club or organization
  • Have at least a 2.0 Grade Point Average
  • have no major disciplinary concerns
  • Have CCR status or can show proof of working towards becoming CCR

Taking the SAT – Digital Version?

Now that SAT is going digital, the district has updated the testing Kiosk of students’ Chromebooks with the new College Board testing site, BlueBook. Students will need to know the email address and password to their College Board accounts to access the site. Students with an older model Chromebook (round end charger) can trade it in for the newer model (flat end charger). To access the Testing Kiosk, students will need to sign out of their Chromebook and click the App icon in the bottom left corner of the screen. They will select BlueBook.

Silver Cadet Band Are Grand Champions

On Saturday, September 26th, our Silver Cadet Band students participated in their first competition of the school year at the Low Country Battle of the Bands hosted by Woodland High School in Dorchester, SC. The students performed well, winning every category in their class, and outscoring every band in the competition. Please help us congratulate the Low Country Battle of the Bands Grand Champions — Richland Northeast’s Silver Cadet Marching Band!!!

Real Talk events provide Black students and their families with the tool they need to plan for their future in college. They’re kicking off the season with Real Talk: HBCU Edition. Wednesday, September 28th, they will feature representatives from Clafin University, Dillard University, Howard University, Norfolk State University, and Spelman College. Thursday, September 29th will feature Fayetteville State University, Hampton University, Morehouse College, Morgan State University, and Texas Southern University, representatives.

Senior Shadowing Day, October 12th

All Seniors who have CCR Status will be allowed to participate in Senior Shadowing Day. CCR Seniors are encouraged to job shadow with a family member or close family friend. Senior Shadowing Day forms are available on the Work Based Learning website. All Senior Shadowing Day forms are due by Friday, October 7th. If you are absent on October 12th and did not submit the Senior Shadowing Day forms by the deadline will result in an unexcused absence for October 12th. So get those forms in as soon as possible.
