English 2 Reading TODAY

English 2 students will report to the same testing locations they reported to yesterday to complete the 2nd half of their English 2 exam — English 2 Reading. We had a great turnout yesterday — 94% of our English 2 students tested. Let’s keep continue showing up. Remember to do your best as this exam counts 20% of your final average in English 2.

Don’t forget:

  • Report to your testing location by 9:00 AM
  • Bring your fully-charged, school-issued Chromebook
  • Bring your Chromebook charger
  • Turn off & remove all smart watches, headphones, cell phone, and any other electronic communication device before entering S Building.

RNE Staff: It’s Rhyme with No Reason Day. Grab a friend/group and dress as things that rhyme, but are not related in any way!

Seat Time Recovery & Saturday Work Detail Tomorrow

REMINDER: Last Day to recover absences in 5:30 PM on December 19th. Not completing Seat Time Recovery will result in receiving an FA on the report card for the course.

EOCs Begin Today – English 2 Writing

All English 2 students will begin taking the 1st section for their EOC TODAY. Yes, the Writing section will be today. They will take Reading tomorrow. Students MUST report to their testing locations by 9:00 AM with their fully-charged, school-issued Chromebook. Please do your best not to schedule any off-campus appointments on EOC testing days as the number of makeup days are limited.

It is highly recommended that they also bring their charger. The following items are prohibited in S Building during testing: smart watches, headphones, cell phone, and any other electronic communication device. Handling these devices at any time while testing is going on could result in disciplinary issues.

Juniors, Check Out the Bezos Scholars Program

The Bezos Scholars Program (BSP) is looking for current juniors to apply to a transformative leadership development program. Successful Scholars are passionate, intellectually curious young people who are rising leaders in their
schools and communities. BSP helps build leadership skills through project-based learning, transforming students’ ideas into action that foster positive change in their communities. To apply, students must also nominate a RNE staff person as their educator who will also serve as their mentor, advocate, and ally and participate fully in the program.

Studets and eductors from the United States & Africa will participate ina a no-
cost leadership training program, that begings with an all-expenses paid summer experience to the Aspen Ideas Festival in Aspen, CO. Scholars will engage with global leaders to create and implement a project that raises
awareness and mobilizes action to address a need in their hometown. The program culminates in Scholars receiving $1000 in funding to launch and lead community change projects.
