    Child ID Kits Distribution

Act 180 of the Child ID Law (2002) requires school districts to make Child ID kits available to parents. We have received a shipment of Child ID kits for our students. These are inkless, at-home kits parents/guardians can use to take their child’s fingerprints and store them safely at home. While there is no obligation for you to proceed with taking and storing your child’s fingerprints, doing so allows you to have your child’s vital information, fingerprints, and DNA in a safe place should you ever need it. Child ID kits are taken and stored at home and should only be given to law enforcement in case of an emergency.

On Thursday, March 30th, a kit will be sent home with your child. Students will be directed to give their kits to their parents/guardians. However, if your child forgets to give you the kit, please ask for it. The Child ID kits have been made available to us through a partnership with the SC Attorney General’s Office, SC Department of Education, Duke Energy, and Dominion Energy.
