Want to go off-campus for lunch? If you meet the following qualifications, you can go off-campus during your lunch. Print, complete, and submit the attached application to the Front Desk staff. If your application is approved, you will receive an email from Mr. Clark to pick up your Junior Lunch Privilege sticker from the Front Desk.

The Midlands Education & Business Alliance (MEBA) is offering a series of webinars this week and in February. The first is on January 27th at 10 AM. This is a virtual program designed to connect industry, community, and education partners to students, parents, and educators around college and career readiness topics. Their feature presentation will focus on “Trending Careers in the Midlands and SC”ย and will be presented by Ms. Wylondria Jefferson, Workforce Outreach Coordinator with the South Carolina Department of Employment and Workforce. Online SAT & ACT Boot Camps

$500 BigSun Athletic Scholarships
Deadline: June 19, 2023 Amount of Award: $500.00
The BigSun Organization is proud to be able to continue to help young athletes succeed in their academic pursuits. They are offering an annual scholarship to deserving student-athletes, regardless of which sport they play or what their capacity in that sport is. The successful applicant will be a high school senior currently involved in some sport at that institution or in the community. Report Cards Distributed Today

Yes, students received report cards in 1A class today (January 19th). Their 1A teacher will hold any report cards not distributed today until Monday, January 23rd. After this date, students will need to pick up their report cards from the School Counseling Office.
Seat Time Requirements

According to South Carolina law, students canNOT miss more than five (5) days in a semester course or ten (10) days in a year-long course to receive credit. Students who have exceeded this requirement will receive an FA (Failure Due to Attendance) on their report card for the course. Students who received an FA on the report card will receive an email from Dr. Myers with the course(s) name, fees owed, hours owed, and a link to the Seat Time Registration form. At this time ONLY Seniors can complete Seat Time to clear FAs. Underclassmen will have an opportunity to clear their FAs during the summer. Attendance Reminders
Attendance does matter for all classes. There are state-mandated seat-time requirements in order to earn the credit for the course for which the student is enrolled. Click the image to view these mandates. Any student who exceeds the state-mandated attendance requirements will receive an FA (Failure Due to Attendance). The cost to clear an FA is $30 for each day over the state-mandated requirements. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact your administrator (see below) at 803.699.2800. ONLY SENIORS WILL BE ABLE TO CLEAR FAs THIS 2ND SEMESTER. Underclassmen will be able to clear their FAs during the summer.

National Recognition Programs Application Opens TODAY!!!
The College Board National Recognition Programs are now housed within BigFutureยฎ and will award academic honors to top-performing Hispanic, Black, Indigenous, and rural students. The 2023 application cycle will open Wednesday, January 18. Eligible sophomores and juniors will receive an email from BigFuture inviting them to apply. Students will also be able to include high school counselor names and emails on their BigFuture Recognition applications.
Student eligibility is determined by performance on the PSAT/NMSQTยฎ, PSATโข 10, or APยฎ Exams. If you do not receive an invitation to apply when the application cycle opens, you can self-nominate through the College Board. Click the image to review information about these programs.

Time to Update Chromebook
It’s that time again. If you haven’t already updated your Chromebook, do it today. Click the image to review the instructions for updating your Chrome OS. Unfortunately, the old model Chromebooks with the round chargers will not update to the new version. If you have this type of Chromebook, you need to turn it into Ms. Owens, who is located in the Media Center. She will replace it with a newer model.
